Constitution Week 2011 is just around the corner. Our goal is to get Pocket Constitutions in the hands of as many students as possible but we need your help with a few bucks to purchase these. Constitution Day

September 17, 2011

Celebrated this year on September 19th

In 2004, Congress passed Public Law 108-447, Section 111, which requires:

“(b) Each educational institution that receives Federal funds for a fiscal year shall hold an educational program on the United States Constitution on September 17 of such year for the students served by the educational institution.”

As a patriot and a concerned citizen, we are asking others to help make Constitution Day better than ever in our Central Valley public schools.  The Tea Party Patriots have a packet of materials developed by the National Center for Constitutional Studies (www.nccs.net) to use in public classrooms that include:

• Large poster for a classroom wall
• Teachers guide with lesson plans for Kindergarten through 12^th grade
• DVD “A More Perfect Union”
• Pocket copy of the United States Constitution

The Central Valley Tea Party has a committee of volunteers that is working to raise money to buy these packets for classroom teachers and pocket-sized United States Constitutions for all students.  The volunteers will also deliver the packets and pocket Constitutions to teachers and classrooms across the valley.  Click ADD TO CART buttons above to donate online.  Or mail checks to:

We are asking everyone to talk to a teacher (or two or three) and ask them what they are doing for Constitution Day in their classroom.  If they have already planned a great lesson for Constitution Day 2011, tell them how pleased you are that they are doing so.  If they say they haven’t decided, don’t know, or didn’t realize they were required to teach the on the Constitution on that day, you have a perfect opportunity to offer them help, support, and encouragement.  Ask them if they would be interested in previewing the packet shown above.  If they are not interested in a packet, ask if they would like some pocket-sized Constitutions to give to their students.  If they are interested in the packet and/or pocket Constitutions, tell them you will arrange for them to get these at no cost to them.
